George Mernagh Tattersalls Horse Trials
Sunday 13th September 2026
Our Story
Tattersalls Ireland is delighted to announce the launch of the George Mernagh Tattersalls Horse Trials, a one-day event in honour of the late George Mernagh, former Managing Director of Tattersalls Ireland. The long-established fixture, previously held in August, will move to a new date of Sunday 13th September.
The one-day Horse Trials will feature a full programme of Dressage, Showjumping and Cross-Country across a range of classes, all affiliated to Eventing Ireland. A key addition for 2026 is that the Cross-Country course will for the first time be designed by international course designer Paul Brady, who will introduce a more technical track with new fences and additional challenges further enhancing the standard of competition.
The introduction of a six-year-old 110cm class, run for a perpetual trophy in George’s name, will support the development of young horses and provide an important stepping stone for future competition horses, and is expected to attract strong and competitive entries.
